WEYMOUTH have the opportunity to make it seven Vanarama National League South points in three games when they travel to Slough Town tomorrow (3pm).

The Terras beat Dover 3-1 and drew 1-1 with Chippenham in their last two league encounters, but were knocked out of the FA Cup by Bath City on Saturday.

Bobby Wilkinson’s men now tackle Slough, unbeaten in six games while keeping clean sheets in four of those matches.

Key has been a central defensive partnership Wilkinson knows only too well in Temi Eweka and Dan Bayliss.

The duo combined to help Bracknell concede only 12 league goals in their title-winning Isthmian South 2021/22 season.

Lending his thoughts on both sides’ form and his former Bracknell players, Wilkinson told Echosport: “We go there full of confidence because of how well we’ve been playing in the league.

“Could we take seven points out of nine? That would be a fantastic run in the league. Then, to have an opportunity to take three points the week after.

“One game at a time. I went to watch Slough on Tuesday and they’re in very good form. We’re up against tough opposition.

“Three or four of my old players play for them now as well, so they’re going to have something to prove.”

He added: “I certainly know every detail about them. We won a championship and they got another clean sheet on Tuesday.

“I found them as a manager and we had some brilliant times together, but I’m about to upset them on Saturday. That’s what we’re certainly going to try and do.”

Wilkinson is ignoring talk of the game being 18th against 19th, with Weymouth ahead by a point.

“I don’t look at it like that,” he insisted. “We want to stay above them and climb the table, like they do. It’s a big game for both teams.”

Wilkinson is attempting to find a loan deal for striker Tommy Stagg, following the collapse of a move to Enfield Town.

Wilkinson said: “That hasn’t happened yet. Hopefully we can get him four or five games, it’s important for him.

“He’s travelling from Essex all the way down not to be getting 90-minute games. He wants to get some games, so we’re working round the clock to get him some games closer to home.”

Jordon Thompson returns from suspension but Keelan O’Connell remains out.

Elsewhere, left-back Sami Oguntayo is still training with Weymouth but is yet to be offered a deal.
