WEYMOUTH manager Bobby Wilkinson has assured fans preparation will remain the same this weekend despite his one-game touchline ban.

Wilkinson in last week’s 1-1 draw with Tonbridge picked up his third caution of the season.

Suspensions for management differ to players, with three cautions triggering a one-match ban and eight yellows a two-match absence.

Managers receiving 16 bookings over a season are required to attend an FA misconduct hearing.

His punishment came after he protested at the officials’ failure to award a late penalty when Tom Bearwish went to ground inside the area.

It means he will miss Saturday’s home match with Eastbourne Borough, returning for the derby at Yeovil Town on Tuesday.

Post-match, Wilkinson told the media: “In so many years I haven’t been booked until this year, but I’m getting booked now for just asking: ‘Why wasn’t it a penalty?’

“Preparation will go really well, we’ll be fine. I’ll be in the stand for the first time in my career but it’s no-one else’s fault.

“I’m not going to blame anyone else, but it’s frustrating.”
