WEYMOUTH manager Bobby Wilkinson is once more relishing the prospect of pitting the Terras against a full-time team when Eastbourne Borough visit the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Wilkinson’s men are currently on a four-game unbeaten run and sit 18th of the 24 teams in the Vanarama National League South, while Eastbourne occupy 16th.

Despite the contrasts in wealth on and off the pitch, Wilkinson insists Weymouth are “ready to beat” Boro.

He told Echosport: “We’re against a full-time outfit, who are spending a hell of a lot of money.

“We’re in two different leagues when it comes to the budget and finance. They’ve got some very good players.

“It’s one that we look forward to. We’re ready to beat them and we’re excited to be playing them.

“We’re very confident, we’ve worked extremely hard this week. There’s a brilliant mood and all my boys will continue to stay positive.

“I’ve made sure the group had a lot of fun in training.”

Weymouth face arch-rivals Yeovil on Tuesday but Wilkinson maintains he is only dealing with one game at a time.

He added: “I’m not even interested about Tuesday, we’ve just got to make sure we’re prepared (for Eastbourne).

“We’ve had a free week with injury, we’ve had no-one blowing their nose, tripping over, grazing their chin or breaking a toe. We’ve had no walking into lampposts this week.

“The boys are in great spirits, we know we can make it five unbeaten in the league.

“We’d like to get nine points out of 15 and it would put us in a great place ready for a massive game on Tuesday.”

Weymouth, chasing a first home win for more than two months, will be without Wilkinson on the touchline as he serves a one-game suspension for three bookings this season.

Mike Percival, Lea Barkus and Jason Matthews will oversee touchline matters, with Wilkinson in the stands.

Echosport has learned goalkeeper Tommy Jackson, following his release from Stoke City, is currently training with the Terras as back-up for new signing Hugo Fisher, who on Wednesday joined on loan from Brighton.

Elsewhere, left-back Nelson Iseguan has signed for Exmouth Town, having been with the Terras in the summer.

The defender opted to take a small break from football and has now decided his future lies closer to his Exeter base.
