DORCHESTER Town have been left with a “difficult scenario” after goalkeeper Adam Forster’s suspected dislocated shoulder.

Forster was hospitalised after the 2-0 loss at Chesham, when he was stretchered from the field following an awkward landing in the build-up to the Generals’ first goal.

With no substitute keeper in the squad, the Magpies put stand-in skipper Will Spetch in goal.

Manager Tom Killick now faces a race against time to find a spare keeper for the Boxing Day derby with Poole Town at the Avenue Stadium (3pm).

Speaking to Echosport, he said: “It’s a difficult scenario in both aspects. Obviously, it caused us a problem in terms of the game.

“We’ve been looking for someone to sit on the bench goalkeeper wise. We’ve got a couple of people now but one of the lads that would’ve been on the bench was not available.

“We didn’t have a goalkeeper on the bench, so we then ended up with Will going in goal. It’s a very difficult chain of events.

“Adam, first and foremost and his personal welfare, the impact on the game of having to put Will in goal and the repercussions of finding a replacement.

“I was hoping on getting home and trying to get my head round what we’re going to do against Poole in terms of selection and how we were going to approach the game, then switch off.

“We just have to do what we have to do now. All of that pales into insignificance now.

“The biggest thing is the personal welfare of Adam. We’re just hoping it’s not too serious.”

Killick added: “We think he’s dislocated his shoulder. You have situations with dislocations where you sometimes need an operation and it can be quite a long-term thing.

“Sometimes, you don’t. We’re hoping from his perspective, and ours, that it’s going to be as quick a recovery as possible.”

Dorchester went on to lose after Jordan Edwards and Ogochukwu Obi goals but not after Will Fletcher missed a glorious chance in the first half for the Magpies.

Asked if he had any complaints about the result, Killick replied: “No, I think we had a gilt-edged chance at 0-0, a one-on-one which we’re very disappointed not to have taken.

“Then, we had another good chance. We restricted them to not much. You’re always going to get one or two chances in a game like this.

“If you don’t take them, quite often you’re going to be on the wrong end of it. That’s what’s happened.”

Killick also confirmed Exeter loanee Ed James was taken off at half-time as a precaution and should be fit to face Poole.
