BROADSTONE 256 (9pts) lost to BERE REGIS 320-8 (20pts) by 64 runs
SAM Goodhew was the star performer for Bere Regis as the all-rounder helped sink Broadstone by 64 runs in the Dorset Premier League.
The irrepressible Goodhew cracked a magnificent 137 not out from 118 balls, including 23 boundaries and a six, as he sent the ball to all parts of Delph Woods.
He was ably assisted by 69 from Rich Cole and a quickfire 41 from Rob Murphy as Bere set an imposing 320-8 from 50 overs.
And Bere’s spinners, led by Goodhew (2-31), helped keep Broadstone at bay, despite the best efforts of Ben Jack (67), Dan Cook (43) and Charlie Groves (41).

Four Bere bowlers claimed a brace, along with two run outs, as the visitors bowled Broadstone out for 256.
Bere skipper Brian Keegan said: “It was the Sam Goodhew show, he stroked the ball all round the wicket.
“He’s been struggling with the bat and everything changed completely. He underpinned the whole innings and it’s our largest total of the season.
“It was a very welcome return to form for him, it was Sam’s day – he took a couple of catches as well.”
