THANKS to the residents of Broadmayne and West Knighton, £250 was raised at the annual coffee morning for a Christmas lunch for the 36 members of Cowleaze Luncheon Club. The older residents of the villages attend a monthly lunch when they pay for the cost of food, cooked by volunteers.

A Fayre and Gift Day will be held in St Martin's Church and Hall, Broadmayne to celebrate St Martin, the patron saint’s festival, on Saturday, November 8 from 10am to noon. There will be many items for Christmas, a tombola, raffle, craft, children's games, plants, books, jigsaws, not to mention cakes and preserves and an opportunity to sit and chat with a cup of tea or coffee.

BROADMAYNE came fourth in the Best Kept Village Competition and the parish council would like to thank parishioners for picking up litter and making the village so attractive with plants and hanging baskets.

UNFORTUNATELY, the organisers of Magical Mayhem, who were due to present ‘Spooktacular’ in Broadmayne Village Hall on Saturday, October 25, have found it necessary to CANCEL the event, due to the lack of interest and a minimum number of tickets sold.

THE new bus shelter at Charlmont Cross, Knighton Lane has been installed and arrangements are being made for it to be cleaned, on a regular basis, by the same contractors who already clean the shelter outside the school.
