HONEY Trap Disco are back at the Electric Palace in Bridport tonight with guest DJ Felix Martin from Hot Chip.

Also featuring is resident DJ Jonny Slut.

Felix Martin is from one of the most popular electro-pop bands in the UK at the moment.

Hot Chip were recently nominated for a Grammy and Brit awards and spent much of the last 10 years blending house and techno rhythms and sounds with distinctive elements of pop, disco, folk and experimental rock music.

The band is also known for its talent DJing regularly worldwide.

They have released several mix CDs including 2007’s DJ Kicks album.

Felix said: “I had everything from Ray Charles to German minimal techno and Joe Jackson and all kinds of weird combinations of things, just because that was the format we were working with, and we wanted to include everything that we liked.”

2009’s Hot Chip a Bugged Out Mix followed, as well as remixes of tracks by the likes of Gorillaz, Amy Winehouse, Kraftwerk, Queens of the Stone Age, Donna Summer, Foals and Matthew Dear to name but a few.

DJ Jonny Slut was the man responsible for the legendary epoch making London electro night Nag Nag Nag formed in February 2002, which was responsible for trail blazing all things indie-electro-dance-not-dance. It turned the capital – and clubbing preconceptions – on its head.

Jonny compiled Nag Nag Nag – the album released in 2004 on React Records, a collection of new wave tracks and underground electronic dance anthems including the track ‘Hooked on Radiation’ by his own band Atomizer, remixed by and included on the Pet Shop Boys album Disco 4 in 2007. Jonny will be mixing up the Cosmic Disco, Techno, Leftfield Beats and all things Electro on the night.

The set starts at 9.30pm. The event is for 18s or over or for those aged 16 plus who are accompanied by an adult. See electricpalace.org.uk Tickets cost £13 if bought in advance or £15 on the door.
