The Tradecroft Industrial Estate was built in the early 1990s by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council. Part of its function is filling an important niche for heavy industry which wouldn’t fit in to residential areas.

There are number of small units have been taken up by new companies recently, alongside larger, long established organisations as diverse as the post office sorting office, Ceewrite, the skip hire company Portland Stone, Peter Bowers Motors. New industrial units are to be built shortly.
