TOM Blair heads a list of six ex-Weymouth players released this week by their former clubs.

Blair, previously of Dorchester Town and Bridport, left Weymouth in the summer for a short-lived spell at Havant before stepping up to Dorking Wanderers in the National League.

He went on to score six goals in 31 games for Marc White’s men, including a blockbuster strike at York, having played 76 times for Weymouth with six goals and 17 assists.

He is joined in the Dorking departure lounge by former Terras loanee Archie Procter.

Centre-back Nathan Carlyle has exited St Albans City and Poole Town have released three ex-Weymouth players after the 2023/24 season.

New Poole manager Steve Tully, himself a former Terra, has parted company with Cameron Murray, Alefe Santos and Luke Nippard.

Poole stressed Nippard’s departure was due to injury, while ex-Portland left-back Harry Hutchinson, so of Weymouth legend Ian, has also left the Black Gold Stadium.

Murray was an integral part of the Dolphins’ side picking up four player-of-the-match awards and with 46 games under his belt making the most appearances of any Poole player.

The ex-Dorchester midfielder also weighed in with two goals and four assists, having last summer made a permanent move from Weymouth, where he accrued 124 appearances.

Nippard continues to be hampered by injuries and made 20 appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.

Santos also failed to make a telling impact, matching Nippard’s goal contributions in 19 games.

And young full-back Hutchinson departs having made 34 appearances, scoring once and chalking up three assists.

Former Terras midfielders Billy Lowes and Harvey Slade are retained and there are ongoing contract talks for ex-Dorchester striker Toby Holmes and former Weymouth man Tyler Forbes after they were offered new deals.
