SOME of you who catch the number 8 buses into town regularly may already be aware that the bus route from Chickerell to the town centre changed on Sunday, November 2. However, it is only the route that is changing and not the times of the buses. Basically buses will not be going down Abbotsbury Road or Newstead Road anymore but will carry straight on down through Chickerell Road coming out onto Boot Hill. Having been in touch with the First bus company they have told me that people will still be able to get a bus from Asda back to Chickerell, but unfortunately instead of catching it directly outside Asda, as they can do at the moment, they will have to go around the back and up on to Chickerell Road to the bus stop just before the old tunnel. Not really as convenient and quite difficult when carrying heavy shopping bags I should think!
